LISBON, PORTUGAL – JULY 25: Vincent Kompany of Burnley FC.

The top tier of English football will have its 2023/24 premiere this Friday when Burnley will host the reigning champions Manchester City at Turf Moor.

And what a match-up to start the new season. The Manchester City legend, Vincent Kompany is one of the key factors why the Clarets managed to promptly get back to the Premier League. Many records were broken by the Burnley side last season in Championship. Many would even compare the two sides when it comes to record-breaking seasons and it’s somewhat safe to say that what Citizens managed to achieve both in England and Europe last season is roughly similar to Burnley’s domination in the Championship.

Favorites, Underdogs, and Teams to Watch

While the Citizens are still strong favorites, we will most likely see an even stronger Arsenal side that might take their game to the next level. By being second most likely to win the league, the Gunners will probably not experience the same amount of pressure as the club from the blue side of Manchester. While this might not be their make-it-or-break-it season, the chances are that Arsenal will probably look to make a greater impact compared to the previous campaign.

Other favorites to win the league are all placed in this order – Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea, Newcastle, Tottenham, and so on. On the other hand, the clubs with the biggest chance of relegation are Luton, Sheffield United, Nottingham Forest, and Wolverhampton who have recently parted ways with their manager Julen Lopetegui.

Two clubs that probably yet again have a surprise for all the neutral fans are Brighton and Aston Villa who have both had quite impressive transfer windows. With that being said, it’s even more likely that they will improve their respective squads since the summer transfer window closes at the end of August.

Fulham, Crystal Palace, and West Ham will probably have bursts of impressive form here and there, but will still most likely end up somewhere in the middle of the table. The Hammers have had a somewhat turbulent transfer window so far and time will tell if they’ll manage to improve the squad and manage to compete for a European competition.

Dive into the Fantasy Premier League World

Something that you should also be excited about is the new season of the Fantasy Premier League.

It’s really hard to consider yourself a die-hard EPL fan if you’ve never tried playing one of the most popular football-related games ever. While the word game might not describe fantasy football the best, you’re still probably familiar with what the whole experience looks like.

The official FPL website updates the platform almost every year, and there is no exception to this one either. Some of the most notable features would be changes made to the user interface. Although some bigger changes were launched during the middle of the previous seasons, this season is probably the best one when you take into consideration both the looks of it and all the data available.

2023/24 will most likely be yet another breathtaking season of top-tier English football that will be equally fun for both casuals and die-hard fans.
